The Mariposa County Unified School District (MCUSD) has announced that it is seeking applicants for multiple vacant positions on its Wellness Committee.

This citizens committee is a legal requirement associated with the Tri-Annual Assessment of the district’s

Local School Wellness Policy and Plan (LSWP), which is a written document that guides the school district’s efforts to establish a school environment that promotes students’ health, well-being and ability to learn.

The superintendent encourages parents/guardians, students, food service employees, physical education teachers, school health professionals, board members, school administrators and members of the public to participate.

This committee will meet on Tuesday, April 21, Tuesday, April 28 and if necessary, Tuesday, May 5 from 1:30 – 3 p.m. at the district board room.

Committee members will have the opportunity to provide input as they review the district’s compliance with the LSWP, compare with model policies and monitor the progress in attaining LSWP goals.

The information gained will then be presented to the public.

Interested persons are invited to contact Ceci Archer at the MCUSD District Office, located at 5082 Old Highway North in Mariposa, at (209) 742-0250 or carcher@mcusd.org no later than Friday, April 17, at noon.
