Music on the Green continues its 36th season this weekend as the Mariposa County Arts Council presents another round of free live performances.

A pair of local favorites will be entertaining audiences at the Art Park in downtown Mariposa.

The Jespersons return to the Art Park stage for Music on the Green on Friday, July 10.

The Jespersons are a local folk duo, often accompanied by a special guest percussionist, banjo, or ukulele … You never know who might join in on a Jespersons set.

The band is composed of partners Jared (guitar, mandolin, vocal) and Kaye Jesperson (cello, vocals), presenting a folk, Americana, jazz fusion. Their repertoire consists of original music and classic standards that span across many genres.

On July 11, local band JNX will bring their rocking family band to Music on the Green.

The band specializes in hard rock hair band covers from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. They might even have an original or two up their sleeve.

This local band was named “Best Musical Group” in the most recent Readers’ Choice Awards from the Mariposa Gazette. They have been playing locally for a decade and many local residents have watched the young members grow up, both musically and physically.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. at the Mariposa County Art Park, located at 5013 Highway 140 in historic downtown Mariposa. Parking is available along 4th and 5th streets, with accessible pedestrian access via the lower 5th Street parking lot through the Mariposa Creek Parkway entry.

Tips for the performers are appreciated and encouraged.
