Russell Rose of Mariposa, passed away on Feb. 26, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born on Dec. 27, 1956, in Sun Valley, Calif., Russell attended Verdugo High School and spent the majority of his life in Mariposa, where he was deeply loved by his family and friends.
A skilled carpenter by trade, Russell took pride in his work and craftsmanship. An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery, backpacking and time by the ocean.
He was passionate about fitness and weightlifting. Russell cherished his freedoms, including a strong love for the Second Amendment.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Darlene and Gerald Rose.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Rose; granddaughter, Jasmine Lopez; sister, Sue Henry; brother, Ralph Rose; and nephew, John Olmsted.
Russell’s family remembers him as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who lived life with energy, passion and love.
As Russell was a devoted Christian, the family requests prayers in his memory. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
