With the turning of the calendar to 2026, that means a new edition of Discover Mariposa County will be published in May.
The annual publication is produced by the Mariposa Gazette and highlights everything to do and see in Mariposa and Eastern Madera counties.
In order to make it the best publication possible, the process of producing Discover has already started this year.
“We launched this publication shortly after taking ownership of the newspaper,” said Nicole W. Little, publisher of the Gazette. “It has been a resounding success and the feedback over the years has been really positive.”
Advertisers are encouraged to purchase spots in the travel guide and those are available now. Various sizes are available for local businesses.
With around 30,000 copies to be distributed, this year-long publication is a great place for advertisers to get their information to the visiting (and local) public for an extended period of time.
For information about advertising, contact Shantel Wight at (805) 390-5429 or email shantel@maripsagazette.com. You can also call the newspaper office at (209) 966-2500.
Little said information is also sought for listings including dining, drinking establishments, retail businesses, adventure companies, service organizations, religious institutions and more.
“In order to get the latest information out to the public, it’s really important for these organizations to give us their latest information,” said Little.
Those listings should include the business name, phone number, email, website and physical address. Email those to nicole@mariposagazette.com.
The annual travel guide features a wide variety of information, from Yosemite National Park to places outside of Yosemite that are of interest to visitors and locals alike.
The publication is distributed throughout East Central California, from Turlock to Fresno (including Fresno Yosemite Airport) and all around Mariposa and Eastern Madera counties.
The publications are restocked on a regular basis throughout the year, said Little.
“This is an important publication for everyone who lives in this region,” said Little. “The local economy is dependent on tourism and we think this publication gives our visitors complete information about everything to do in this region.”
