Featured Artist
Veronica Rowney Gross is the featured artist for June at the Sierra Artists Gallery in downtown Mariposa (5031 Highway 140). Her primary medium has been transparent watercolors preferring the plein air approach.
Since moving back to Mariposa after living in the Bay Area and spending 30 years teaching high school art, she has been inspired by the landscapes of the Sierra foothills and high country.
Wreaths Across America
Mariposa Friends of Veterans Wreaths Across America fundraiser to raise money for veterans will take place June 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Steve’s Sportsmans Cafe (3441 Woodland Drive).
A portion of all sales will be donated to Wreaths Across America so that every known veteran in Mariposa County cemetaries receives a memorial wreath on Dec. 19.

Alumni Picnic
The Mariposa County High School Alumni Association Picnic is scheduled for June 20 at MCHS from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Handicapped accessible parking is available at the gym.

AAUW Yard Sale
AAUW Mariposa is hosting an epic yard on Saturday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Redbud Room at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.
This even is to raise funds for programs such as its week-long STEM camp for local 7th grade girls.
There will be an abundance of useful, unique and quality treasures donated by scores of AAUW members.

Mariposa PieceMakers
Mariposa PieceMakers Quilt group will meet the third Saturday of June at Mariposa Lutheran Church (4469 Highway 49).
The two hour meeting begins at 9:15 a.m. and welcomes anyone interested in quilting regardless of sewing experience.

Trail Ride
The Mariposa Mountain Riders are hosting a trail ride on Saturday June 27, horses and riders should be ready to head out on the trail at 10 a.m.
Come spend a day in the forest riding in the Goat Meadow area. Parking will be at the Goat Meadow Snow Play area. Bring your halter, lead rope and lunch.

Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra
On Saturday, June 27 at 7 p.m., the Mariposa Yosemite Symphony Orchestra’s (MYSO) annual “Independence Day Spectacular!” and season-ending concert will be performed under the stars, lakeside at the Episcopal Conference Center (43803 Highway 41, Oakhurst).

Pulled pork dinner
Mariposa Post 567 and Auxillary Unit 567 are hosting a pulled pork drive thru or eat in dinner on June 27 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Mariposa Senior Center (5246 Spriggs Lane).
Dinner includes pulled pork, cole slaw, chips and a cookie for $25.

Raffle
The Mariposa Museum and History Center is hosting a raffle for a chance to win a special edition 250th engraved .22 LR Golden Boy H004.
Tickets can be purchased at the museum through July 4 at 3 p.m. with cash or card.
Tickets are available by cash only at Stage Stop Gun Shop through July 3 at 4 p.m.
The winner will be announced on July 4, do not need to be present to win.
All proceeds go to the Mariposa Butterfly Festival.
Lake Don Pedro Baptist Church

Trade AA and Narcotics meetings
Trade Recovery Center hosts Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings and Narcotics Anonymous meetings for anyone seeking support in their recovery journey.
Whether you’re just starting your recovery or continuing your path, this is a safe, welcoming and confidential space to connect with others who understand.
AA meetings take place at Trade Recovery Center (5112 Bullion Street) on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. Narcotics Anonymous meetings take place in the same location on Tuesdays from noon-1 p.m.
These meetings are open to anyone seeking support. Walk-ins are welcome and sign up is not required. Coffee and refreshments provided.

Bootjack Stompers
The Bootjack Stompers Hall provides Line Dancing instruction for advanced line dancers on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. and for beginning/intermediate line dancers on Tuesdays from 5:30-7 p.m. with line dance instructor Cheri Ridenhour.
We also provide Square Dancing workshops on Tuesdays for SSD/Mainstream and Plus. SSD/Mainstream is at 7:15 – 8:15 p.m. and Plus is from 8:15 – 9:30 p.m. with Caller Rachel Phillips.
Beginning Square Dancer workshops (no prior experience) start each September.
The Hall is also for rent (by the hour or for longer term rentals).

Mariposa Beekeepers meet every third Monday of the month, March through October. Meetings are held at the Mariposa County Library from 7-8 p.m.
Wheelchairs needed
The Mariposa Yosemite Rotary Club is seeking old wheelchairs, crutches and walkers. The items will be used through the HERO Wheelchair Exchange program.

Lactation Lounge
Mariposa County Lactation Lounge takes place the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon in the Mariposa County Library Community Room (4978 10th Street).
Come join the group for tea and baked goods and sit in on the community support circle for expecting and new parents.
Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding and receive support around common challenges while making lasting connections.

Books Galore is a used bookstore in Mariposa County located at the Mariposa County Library. Operated by the Mariposa County Friends of the Library, Books Galore offers a wide variety of books, DVDs, audio books and CDs at low prices.
The store is open two days a week: Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Book donations are accepted every Monday and Friday in the bookstore.
Proceeds help support the Mariposa County Library System.

The Mariposa fellowship in Bootjack meets everyday at 7 p.m. There are noon meetings on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

”Toolbox4” is a new support group for people who walk alongside a family member or friend who struggles with emotional challenges.
Through discussion and teaching we gain tools to be more effective with our challenges.

Senior Center bingo & hall for rent
Play bingo at the Senior Center, 5256 Spriggs Lane, on the first Friday of every month.
