Minarets High School graduation
A band of Mustangs in the Class of 2026 will take the stage on Thursday, June 11 from 7:30 – 10 p.m. at Minarets High School (45077 Road 200) in O’Neals.
Yosemite High School graduation
A clan of Badgers in the Class of 2026 will turn their tassels on Friday, June 12 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Yosemite High School (50200 School Road) in Oakhurst.
Oakhurst Pride March & Picnic
The second annual Oakhurst Pride March and Picnic will take place on Saturday, June 13 as participants gather at the library at 9:45 a.m. – march begins at 10 a.m. along Highway 41 between Road 426 and Highway 49. At noon the group will join in a BYO picnic at Oakhurst Community Park for the first Pride Festival.
Flag Day
Oakhurst Lutheran (39255 Black Road off 426) will hold its annual Flag Day Celebration on Sunday, June 14, which is Flag Day in the United States. The celebration begins with a fundraising dinner to benefit veterans at 6 p.m. (pulled pork sandwich, chips and ice water) for a $12.50 suggested donation. Dinner will be followed by a program featuring Vietnam veteran Bill Brotsis, 1st Calvary Airborne. The program will feature patriotic music, the Pledge and a flag retirement ceremony.
Oakhurst Art Hop
This month’s Oakhurst Art Hop is Thursday, May 21 from 5-8 p.m. and guests are invited to hop on the free Oakhurst Trolley or follow the map to view art. Keepsake glasses are available for wine tasting at $20 (bring back each month to taste for $10). Venues include Yosemite Wine Tails, Bodys by Boyd, Yosemite Sierra Artists Gallery, Yosemite Gateway Art Center, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, The Gallery at Oakhurst Spirits and Elderberry House.
Becoming a Master Food Preserver
Learn what is involved in becoming a Master Food Preserver and enjoy a demo on making kefir and kombucha with kefir grains and kombucha SCOBY provided to take home. Kiwanis dinner fundraiser
Sierra Oakhurst Kiwanis plans a fundraising Chicken Dinner on Friday, June 19 at the Oakhurst Community Center from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. The dinner costs $20 and includes tri tip, cole slaw, baked potato and cookies. Becoming a Master Gardener
Learn what is involved and an overview of all the things you learn in becoming a Master Gardener and receive a free gift for all who attend the introduction at Sierra Senior Center (49111 Cinder Lane) in Oakhurst on Friday, June 26 from 1-2 p.m. Applications are open for the 2027 MG class. Bass Lake July 4 Boat Parade
The Bass Lake July 4th Boat Parade sponsored by the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce is set with Penny Pie as this year’s Grand Marshal. The parade begins at the entrance to Willow Cove at 7 p.m. as vessels head toward The Pines Resort, loop around in front of The Forks and head to Miller’s Landing Resort. Judging will take place in front of the Miller’s Marina between 7:30 and 8 p.m. The parade is free to enter – winners will be notified on July 5. Call Miller’s to register (559) 642-3633.
Bass Lake July 4 fireworks
Fireworks go off for Independence Day at Bass Lake at dusk. Sunset is at 8:22 p.m. This event is the largest of any in Madera County with thousands in attendance. Apart from this public display all combustibles and fireworks including so-called safe and sane fireworks are banned by CAL FIRE in the foothill communities of Eastern Madera County including Bass Lake.
