Yosemite Cinema plans a special community screening of “Perfect Strangers” on Saturday, Sept.26 at 10 a.m.
Hosted by Olive Charitable Organization, the event will bring community members together for a powerful documentary and conversation focused on the realities of human trafficking and its impact on individuals, families and communities.
“Perfect Strangers” is billed as a compelling documentary directed and produced by Lou Douros. Featuring the work of Madera-based Olive Charitable Organization, the film brings greater awareness to human trafficking while highlighting the challenges survivors face and the support available to help them rebuild their lives.

Olive Charitable Organization encourages greater understanding, meaningful conversation and increased awareness surrounding human trafficking. It’s an issue that can often remain hidden or misunderstood, according to experts.
“Through ‘Perfect Strangers,’ attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about its realities, better understand its impact and become more informed about the role communities can play in awareness and prevention.”
Following the screening, attendees are invited to stay for a live question and answer session with representatives from Olive Charitable Organization. The conversation will focus on human trafficking awareness and prevention as well as survivor support services available within the region.
Supporters said the event provides an opportunity for residents throughout the mountain community to come together, ask questions and learn more about an issue that affects communities across the country — including how greater awareness, education and access to resources can make a difference.
