Have you ever wished you were better prepared to handle everyday health emergencies?

On Saturday, April 18, local instructor Dana Tafoya will teach CPR and First Aid class at the Mariposa Library, designed to help adults gain lifesaving skills.

Participants can select from one of two identical sessions (Session I is 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and Session II is 12:45 to 4 p.m.). Each session will cover community level CPR and first aid techniques like Stop the Bleed, administering EpiPens and NARCAN, and blood pressure monitoring.

This knowledge and these skills are crucial and we are so grateful to Dana for offering this. We encourage the public to take the time to sign up and learn,” said Mariposa County Librarian Matt Johnson.

Dana Tafoya is a trusted CPR and First Aid instructor at Mariposa County High School, Mariposa County Adult School and Merced College. We are so fortunate to have people like Dana sharing her expertise with our community,” stated Christine Knight, Mariposa Library Assistant and Mariposa County Adult School Instructor.

Registration is free for adults 18 years and older in person or by phone. Please note the session you are interested in joining when registering. The library is located at 4978 10th Street. To learn more or to sign up, call (209) 966-2140.

This project is supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
