Chuck Kendall returned to Mariposa last weekend to deliver the prayer during the annual Memorial Day event held at the Mariposa Cemetery. The Keith M. Bertken Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6042 annually host the event, which honors America’s war dead. Kendall has been involved in the ceremony for years but recently has been battling cancer. That, however, did not keep him from coming to this year’s event.
