Hanging banner wrong

musicWave

Editor,

Just a few thoughts on the story about the scientist who was fired for defacing a national monument, I mean, just for hanging a 66-foot banner on the face of El Capitan!?

One would think that a “doctor” (really?) and an employee who says they care about the park would have a bit more common sense than to deface that magnificent edifice with anything!

El Capitan belongs to the American people; we ask the National Park Service to help preserve it for us. I can tell you that when I am enjoying Yosemite National Park, I don’t like to think about having to look at any banner on El Cap.

Additionally, I don’t appreciate as a taxpayer, having to pay to have said banner removed.

I’d be pleased to know whether or not SJ Joslin offered to remove it or pay to have it removed once she realized how disrespectful and immature it was to place it there.

Sincerely,
Anthony Tucker
Coarsegold
