The Mariposa Gem and Mineral Show is all set to be a great event this year.

It will be held on April 11 and 12.

Gems, minerals, fossils, geode cutting and lovely jewelry make this the ideal fun and educational outing for the whole family.

A wide variety of gemstone jewelry, breathtaking mineral and rock specimens, fossils, crystals, beads, lapidary rough and slabs, and mineral-related crafts of all sorts will be available from many vendors.

The Mariposa Gem & Mineral Club will be cutting geodes and doing demonstrations throughout the show. Silent auctions and a large raffle add to the fun.

The California State Mining and Mineral Museum is open during the gem show. The museum displays beautiful crystals and gemstones from the state’s collection, and features an extensive gold mining exhibit, including a replica mine tunnel.

All of this takes place at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday,April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is free. Adult admission is $5; admission for kids 14 and under is free.

Admission to the museum is $4 during the show.
