An ex-coach at Madera County schools will face sentencing in Utah for sexual crimes against a minor.

Matthew William Pressly was taken into custody on a no-bail extradition warrant in Madera on Oct. 24 last year.

The warrant issued by the Davis County Sheriff’s Office in Utah was regarding an investigation into aggravated sexual exploitation and online communication with a minor which was believed to have occurred in Madera County.

Pressly, then 65, was arrested through a coordinated effort as the primary suspect. He was booked into the Madera County Jail prior to his extradition.

Pressly last year was coaching at Yosemite High School where his employment by the district was said to have been immediately terminated following his arrest. Online records show he was also at various times employed by schools in the Chawanakee and Golden Valley districts.

Pressly was scheduled for sentencing on March 16 in Farmington, Utah.
