Mountain Community Job Fair

The Workforce Development Board of Madera County invites potential hires and employers to participate in the Mountain Community Job Fair on Thursday, March 19 at the Oakhurst Community Center (39800 Road 425B) in Oakhurst from 2-6 p.m. Employers will find qualified employees, reduce hiring costs, promote open positions and invest in the community. Yosemite Jazz Band

The renowned Yosemite Jazz Band will perform at Bee’s Bakery Café (40250 Junction Drive) on Saturday, March 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Celebrate Mardi Gras as Yosemite Jazz Band brings lively New Orleans-style Jazz and festive fun in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Admission is free.

Basics of composting and worms

UC Master Gardener Randy Thomson will teach participants about the basics of composting and worms at Sierra Senior Center (49111 Cinder Lane) in Oakhurst on Friday, March 27 from 1-2 p.m. The workshop is open to the public and free of charge. Sierra Senior Center invites the community to “A Taste of International Cuisine,” on Friday, March 27 from 6-8 p.m. Dishes will be inspired by friends’ and members’ heritage, culture or place that’s meaningful to them including Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Sweden, Mexico and Germany. Into the Woods at Golden Chain

Golden Chain Theatre presents “Into the Woods,” opening Friday, March 27 and running through May 3 with shows on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. Veterans and first responders BBQ

Third annual Kids’ Day at Bass Lake

The Pines Resort (54432 Road 432) at Bass Lake invites the community to its 3rd Annual Kids’ Day at Bass Lake on Saturday, March 28 from noon to 3 p.m. – a special event packed with exciting activities like Touch a Truck, games and entertainment for the whole family. Kids can explore big rigs, emergency vehicles and more. It’s a free community event designed to bring families together for a day of joy and laughter at the lake. Families with special needs please note that from noon to 1 p.m. it’s a sensory-friendly hour with reduced noise, flashing lights and extra time for interaction.
