Vision Academy of the Arts invites the community to “A Grand Night for the Arts,” the annual fundraiser for the local nonprofit which for decades has provided programs, scholarships and Star Awards for area students.
The special event is set for Saturday, April 18 from 6-9 p.m. at Sierra Meadows (46516 Opah Drive) in Ahwahnee. The evening will feature dinner, live music, demonstrations by scholarship applicants, silent auction and a no-host bar.
This year’s high school applicants, nine in number, include filmmakers, an art historian and an aspiring fashion stylist. Five of the applicants are students at Yosemite High School while one student is from Glacier High School and three are at Minarets High School.
“We have lots of talented kids!” said Vision Academy board president Nicole Hoke. She was recently named interim executive director of the Madera County Arts Council.
Dinner for Grand Night will be catered by Matsumoto Samurai’s Kitchen.
