The second Mariposa Paint Out was held April 22-26.

Thirty-nine artists painted in picturesque Mariposa County for four days and then entered one or two pieces in the competition as well as exhibited additional art made during the event in the Mariposa County Government Center.

Award winning artists Veronica Gross and Moira Donohoe selected first, second and third place winners, as well as two honorable mention awards.

The participating artists and the attending public voted for an artists choice award and a people’s choice award.

The awards ceremony was followed by a “wet paint sale” and many paintings were purchased on Sunday afternoon.

The event and the awards were sponsored by The Sierra Artists Gallery with support from local businesses, Yosemite Mariposa Tourism Bureau, Mariposa Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Mariposa Yosemite, Foothills Hospitality Group, King of Frames, Allards Art Supplies and PleinAir Magazine.
