Ben Lingenfelter, Carmine Sandoval, Mason Sinclair, Cody Poor and Brady Arebalo represented the Mariposa FFA welding team at State Finals last month.

These five have worked tirelessly since their freshman year to reach this moment.

While they may not have had the fairytale ending, earning second place in the state is an incredible accomplishment and one that speaks volumes about their dedication and grit.

Silver bowls and ribbons are great prizes, however, watching these young men stick together from start to finish, choosing to share the spotlight with each other and showing exemplary character is something that will stick with them much longer than any prize,” said Felipe Barrientos.

Their hard work and effort this year was truly inspiring. I couldn’t be prouder of them. They’ll always be champions in my eyes.

Beyond the competition, these young men have built something that goes far deeper than any result.

Their work ethic, pride in their craft and the way they carry themselves reflect a foundation that was laid long before this season was built on high standards, consistency and pride in their work.

That kind of impact doesn’t fade; it stays with them long after the final weld is laid.

As they take their next steps beyond high school, they leave behind more than just results they leave a legacy.

One defined by hard work, loyalty and showing up for one another every single day. That can’t measure that with a placing, but it’s what truly defines this team.

Mariposa FFA extends a sincere thank you to the coaches, teachers and mentors past and present who poured into these students and helped shape their journey.

Your impact is seen in every skill they’ve developed and every value they carry forward,” team organizers said.
