Editor,

I’ve known Tammie Guenthart since I was 17. I’ve watched her work hard her whole life. She’s not someone who just shows up when it’s time to run for office — she’s been doing the work for decades.

When it comes to the Assessor-Recorder’s office, experience matters. This isn’t a job you can learn overnight. It deals with property values, taxes and records that people depend on. Mistakes in that office can cost people time, money and a lot of frustration.

Tammie has spent over 22 years working in that office and worked her way up through every level, not to mention a total of 30 years working for the county. She knows how it works because she’s actually done the job and never left it.

In a small county like ours, we need someone who can step in every day and get the job done right. She’s in the role currently for a reason. She should remain.

For me, it’s pretty simple. If you want things done right, you go with the person who already knows how to do it.

I’m voting for Tammie Guenthart for Assessor-Recorder.
