Soroptimist International of Mariposa is hosting a Tea on Saturday, April 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Mariposa Senior Center at 5246 Spriggs Lane.
Come dressed in your “Sunday best.” Fascinators, hats and gloves are encouraged, but not required. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and are available for purchase at Happy Burger Diner, from any Soroptimist member or at the door.
Tea, a light lunch consisting of tea sandwiches, and desserts will be served. There will also be a drawing and silent auction. Proceeds will fund the continuance of Soroptimist International of Mariposa’s local service projects.
Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors and presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education.
The Mariposa club also donates funds to local organizations such as Manna House, Helping Hands, Mountain Crisis and the John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation.
