Board offers public input for budget

The Madera County Board of Supervisors is inviting the public to view its proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

Proposed budget documents for Madera County and for Special Districts for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 have been prepared and will be available for public review on May 29 at the following locations and online:

• The office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, County Government Center, 200 West 4th Street, Madera.

The Madera County Library, 121 North G. Street, Madera.

• Online at www.maderacounty.com/government/administrative-management/budget-documents

The board of supervisors will meet in the board chambers at the government center in Madera beginning on Monday, June 8 at 9 a.m. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the proposed county budget.

The board, sitting as the Board of Directors for dependent Special Districts, will meet in chambers immediately following the hearing of the proposed county budget but not earlier than Monday, June 8 at 1 p.m. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the proposed Special District budgets preparatory to making a final determination thereon.

This public hearing may be continued by the board of supervisors from time to time until budget adoption.

At the time of public hearing, citizens may provide written and oral comments regarding the proposed budget. All proposals for budget revisions shall be submitted in writing to the clerk of the board before the close of the public hearing.
