CHP Oakhurst Area on May 15 sought the owners of this untethered emu which appeared injured in the vicinity of Road 415 and Jennifer Lane in Coarsegold. With help from the community, the appropriate humans were notified, picked up their bird (he was OK) and departed determined to discover how the errant emu got out to begin with.

At noon the group will join in a BYO picnic at Oakhurst Community Park for the first Pride Festival.
