VFW Post 8743 and Marine Corps League Detachment 1121 invite the mountain communities to a series of Memorial Day services honoring men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Memorial Day is Monday, May 25.
Memorial Day services will be led by Commander Maryann Enciso along with dedicated VFW and Marine Corps League members with support from the Yosemite High School Cadets and Coarsegold 4-H Club.
Community volunteers will be needed for the Avenue of the Flags placement in Oakhurst.
Ceremony schedule
7:30 a.m. — Oakhill Cemetery at 40188 Highway 41 in Oakhurst, Avenue of the Flags community flag placement.
9 a.m. — Wassama Roundhouse/ Indian Cemetery on Road 628 in Ahwahnee.
10 a.m. — Oakhill Cemetery Memorial Ceremony at 40188 Highway 41 in Oakhurst.
11 a.m. — Picayune Cemetery Memorial Ceremony on Picayune Road above Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coarsegold.
1 p.m. — North Fork Cemetery Memorial Ceremony at 33699 Road 228 in North Fork.
