Local veteran has a new leadership forum

A local veteran and advocate for veterans is sharing lessons on leadership in a new weekly series available online at the LinkedIn platform.

Oakhurst resident Maryann Enciso is Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars District 9 and Post 8743 and Commandant of the Marine Corps League 1121.

She is a member of the National Legislative Committee in California and the National Women Veterans Committee and a retired director of the Internal Revenue Service.

Enciso weekly offers her own take on leadership, covering topics ranging from the global to the deeply personal.

“Perseverance isn’t built when life is easy,” Enciso wrote in one recent essay referencing her childhood growing up in Philadelphia and military experience. “It is forged through adversity, setbacks and the decision to keep moving forward when every reason exists to quit.”

Each essay includes a leadership challenge.
