Who’s making dinner? Kiwanis Club is making dinner!

That’s because Sierra Oakhurst Kiwanis have two important fundraisers coming up as they continue to support youth and educators in Eastern Madera County.

Each year, the local Kiwanis organization provides mini grants to teachers in local districts along with scholarship funds for local high school senior graduates. They’re also known for weekly meetings with guest speakers at El Cid Mexican Cuisine and Breakfast with Santa each year.

Now they’re taking all that kitchen talent to the community center for two fundraisers.

On May 15, Kiwanis will offer a chicken dinner with two large barbecued chicken thighs, baked beans, potato salad and a package of Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The cost of the chicken dinner is $15.

On June 19 Kiwanis are planning a tri tip dinner with generous portions of barbecued tri tip, a baked potato, cole slaw and a package of Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The cost for the tri tip dinner is $20.

Both dinner events will be served take-out or drive through from the Oakhurst Community Center between the hours of 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Kiwanis promised your dinners will be “ready, packaged and yummy!”

The maximum planned will be 200 dinners for each date.
