Janet “Jan” K. Paquette (Dayhoff) was born on April 25,1 944 and died peacefully at home, in Oakhurst on April 25, 2026 after her 82nd birthday party.

Jan was born in Centralia, Ill., and was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Paquette, the love of her life.

She is survived by her son Alan Dayhoff, her daughter Robyne Dayhoff and her grandchildren Brenna Payne, Jared Marsh, Bryce Dayhoff, Courtney Dayhoff and Emily Dayhoff.

Jan was beloved by many and was known for her wicked sense of humor and artistic talents. She was proud of having two wonderful children and amazing grandchildren.

Some of Jan’s happiest and proudest moments were learning to ride a motorcycle at age 40, graduating from San Joaquin College of Law and becoming an independent paralegal, buying a house on her own, staying sober for 39 years, painting, making cards, falling in love and marrying Leo at age 65 and making many true friends.

We will be reminded of her when we see dragonflies and when laughing at a funny joke!

Her memorial will be graveside at Oakhill Cemetery, Oakhurst, CA (please carpool) on Saturday, May 30 at 10 a.m.
