Welcome to the land of the free and the home of the lake as Eastern Madera County prepares to party like it’s 1776.
“Celebrating the 4th of July at Bass Lake is always something to look forward to and folks are even more excited for this year being our nation’s 250th,” said Melissa Jones, president of the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce.
“The Bass Lake Chamber starts planning for our annual ‘Light Up the Sky’ event in September when we layout our ideas for the following year. From time honored events like our annual fishing derby to one-off celebrations like Bass Lake’s 125th birthday, it takes the effort and collaboration of many to pull it off!”
Jones said the July 4th weekend draws thousands to the lake every year and is by far the busiest and most crowded time of year.
“Many people start staking out their fireworks and viewing spot before the sun comes up.”
The Independence Day weekend celebration is always memorable at the lake and the chamber has great events lines up as the Summer of Celebration continues.
“From daily live music to weekly markets and even a birthday party for Bass Lake in August, we’re celebrating lake life in a big way.”
