Cedar Valley VFD Pancake Breakfast
The first responders of Cedar Valley Volunteer Fire & Rescue Station 18 in Madera County invite the community to its annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, July 4 from 7-10:30 a.m. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, orange juice and coffee. The 66th annual Mid-Sierra Loggers Jamboree, “Timber & Tradition,” rips into town on Saturday and Sunday, July 4-5 at the North Fork Recreation Center with all proceeds going toward the North Fork Boosters General Fund. Amateur and professional competition, Loggers Jamboree Royalty, Parade and Wood Chopper’s Ball are among the highlights of this beloved event. Bass Lake July 4 Boat Parade
The Bass Lake July 4th Boat Parade sponsored by the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce is set with Penny Pie as this year’s Grand Marshal. The parade begins at the entrance to Willow Cove at 7 p.m. as vessels head toward The Pines Resort, loop around in front of The Forks and head to Miller’s Landing Resort. Judging will take place in front of the Miller’s Marina between 7:30 and 8 p.m. The parade is free to enter – winners will be notified on July 5. Call Miller’s to register (559) 642-3633.
Bass Lake July 4 fireworks
Fireworks go off for Independence Day at Bass Lake at dusk. Sunset is at 8:22 p.m. This event is the largest of any in Madera County with thousands in attendance. Apart from this public display all combustibles and fireworks including so-called safe and sane fireworks are banned by CAL FIRE in the foothill communities of Eastern Madera County including Bass Lake.
Caring Veterans Oakhurst
Local group Caring Veterans of America meets on the first Tuesday of every month including July 7 at 8 a.m. for breakfast and a 9 a.m. meeting at Mountain Oaks Cafe (40282 Highway 41) in Oakhurst. YLP Art in the Park
Ladies of the Lakes in Yosemite Lakes Park invite the community to the third annual YLP Art in the Park in the YLP Clubhouse (30250 Yosemite Springs Parkway) in Coarsegold on Sunday, July 12 from noon to 4 p.m. where 10 local artists will exhibit their artistic talents.
