Reader Steve Lake submitted these two photos, and each has a story. The first picture was taken by his sister, Kelly Lake Sparks, on Dec. 23, 2023. Pictures of Half Dome are so very common, but Lake said he “liked the moon and the very still river with the reflection of Half Dome.” He said his father, Robert Lake, took many pictures of Yosemite Valley and the high country over the many years he lived and worked there. “He was fond of photographing Half Dome, summer, winter, spring, fall, with snow, at night, by moonlight, so many ways,” he said. “He’s gone now, but his pictures live on. His most unusual picture, shown, was of Yosemite Falls “from a point on or near the Four Mile Trail near Sentinel Rock or maybe the water tank above the trail.” Do you have a photo for this weekly feature?
