Reader Carl Casey took this photo of a sugar pine in Yosemite that he said is “currently the largest known pine tree (of any pine species) on earth! My big-tree hunting partner, Martin Crawford, is standing next to the tree’s base for perspective.” He said the tree’s location is not publicly known. The sugar pine is just under nine feet in diameter and 236 feet tall. Do you have a photo for this weekly feature? If so, email it to greg@mariposagazette.com.
