The acclaimed Tower String Quartet will perform at Yosemite Gateway Art in Oakhurst on Sunday, May 24 from 4-6 p.m.
Hailed by musical professionals for their energy and commitment to music making, the Tower Quartet was formed in 2018 by current and former Fresno State graduate students Lianna Elmore (violin), Erin Adams (violin), Matthew Smoke (Viola) and Emma Hill (cello).
With a passion for outreach and education, the Tower Quartet presents chamber performances and coaches music programs at public schools valley-wide.
Combining a love for tradition with an eye toward inclusion, the Tower Quartet performs in both conventional and unusual spaces, bridging the gap between genres and generations.
Their inaugural season contained performances of Mendelssohn, Schubert, Shostakovich, Beethoven and works by local composers.
Today they play a wide range of music from classical masterpieces to modern pop/rock arrangements like Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Coldplay.
The cost to attend the concert at Yosemite Gateway Art Center (40982 Highway 41) in Oakhurst is $20 general and $10 student admission. Visit www.ygac.org to register.
