The Mariposa County Unified School District recently announced the appointment of Nick Leonard as Principal of Mariposa County Unified School District’s Alternative Education Programs.
Leonard has served as a teacher in Mariposa’s alternative education programs since August 2021.
His colleagues describe him as someone who builds strong relationships with students, staff and families; possesses extensive knowledge of alternative education programming; and consistently follows through on his commitments.
Above all, he is recognized for his genuine commitment to supporting others and helping students succeed.
Throughout the interview process, Leonard distinguished himself through his thoughtful leadership, collaborative approach and clear vision for serving students with diverse needs.
He demonstrated a deep understanding of the unique role alternative education plays in the district and shared practical ideas for strengthening student engagement, expanding opportunities for success and supporting staff in their important work.
District officials said they are excited about the leadership, experience and dedication he will bring to the Alternative Education Programs and look forward to the positive impact he will have on students, staff and families.
