MY Club recently hosted its annual Youth Ambassador Awards Night with students, families, supporters and local leaders in attendance to celebrate the next generation.
“The event brought the community together to recognize MY Club members who demonstrate strong character, kindness and a commitment to serving others,” said Darhinka Medina, community relations director for the nonprofit organization.
Founded in 1999 as Mountain Area Youth Organization (MAYO), what is now MY Club operates in multiple locations including Oakhurst, Ahwahnee and Coarsegold.
The Ambassadors’ dinner was held at MY Club’s Teen Center across the street from Yosemite High School in Oakhurst.
Throughout the evening, each Youth Ambassador candidate delivered a speech sharing their personal experiences, growth and dedication to making a positive impact in their community.
The evening was hosted by Alyssa Medina, MY Club’s 2025 Youth Ambassador, guiding the gathering with poise before passing the title to the 2026 Youth Ambassador, Ella Booth, from MY Club Oakhurst.
In addition to Booth, the 2026 MY Club Youth Ambassadors are Chloe Stanfill of MY Club Wasuma, Sofia Romo of MY Club Rivergold and Elvis Robles of MY Club Coarsegold.
“MY Club continues to create a supportive space where youth build confidence, feel values and grow into leaders,” Darhinka Medina said.
“The organization thanks the community for its strong support and the evening’s judges, James Gillaspy, Sarah Persson, Sarah Rold and Melanie Barker.”
