The Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its newly remodeled clinic and expanded laboratory facility.
The event took place on May 28 in Madera.
“We are excited to welcome the community to our newly upgraded facility,” said Sara Bosse, Madera County Department of Public Health Director.
“This project will expand our capacity to detect and treat illnesses for decades to come and reflects Madera County’s commitment to meeting the community’s health needs through quality, timely care.”
Officials said the upgraded facility features an expanded laboratory equipped with advanced molecular detection technology as well as modernized clinical spaces designed to support efficient, high-quality care.
These improvements enhance the department’s ability to respond quickly to public health needs and deliver high quality services to the community, according to the county.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, media representatives were invited to participate in a tour of the laboratory and clinic for an inside look at the upgraded facilities and the advanced tools that support public health efforts in Madera County.
The project was funded in part by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) through the COVID-19 Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) Enhancing Detection Expansion – Advanced Molecular Detection (AMD) supplemental.
