A man was convicted and is facing life in prison for sex crimes committed against children.
A Madera County jury on June 25 found Moises Quinonez Agundez guilty on four counts of lewd acts upon a child, three counts of continuous sexual abuse on a child and one count of forcible lewd act upon a child.
The verdicts were reached in Department 22 of the Madera County Superior Court before the Judge Miguel Valdovinos.
The charges involved four separate victims. The jury also found true the special allegation that Agundez committed these acts against more than one victim.
District Attorney Sally Moreno said her office was appreciative of the victims for their courage in coming forward and testifying at trial. The DA acknowledged the work of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, DA Investigators and Victim Service Advocates, the jury and Senior Deputy District Attorney Keane Anrig.
Agundez is facing life in prison. He will be sentenced on July 23, 2026.
