Linda Ann Myers, 72, of Mariposa, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who loved her beyond words.
Linda was born on Jan.14, 1954, to James and Kathryn Fluharty. She grew up in Hayward, Calif., and graduated from California State University, Hayward, where she met the love of her life, Lloyd Thomas Myers. Together they shared 40 beautiful years of marriage and raised their two beloved daughters, Katie Mari and Shannon Elizabeth.
Linda was truly the salt of the earth. Beautiful inside and out, she possessed a warmth that made everyone feel welcome and an unforgettable laugh that could brighten any room. She was endlessly kind, generous and compassionate, always giving of herself to others without hesitation.
A lifelong learner, Linda’s curiosity about the world never faded. She believed there was always something new to discover, whether through books, travel, music, art or the stories of those around her.
One of her greatest passions was researching her family’s ancestry. Through years of dedicated research, she uncovered an extensive family history, preserving countless stories and connections for future generations.
Teaching was more than a career — it was her calling. Linda devoted many years to her students at Glenbrook Middle School before retiring. After moving to Mariposa, she continued sharing her love of learning by substitute teaching and tutoring local students.
She also dedicated her time to serving children and families through CASA. Linda found great joy in encouraging others, and her patience, intelligence and genuine care left a lasting impact on countless young lives.
Linda and Lloyd shared a beautiful love story that began in a Spanish class at Cal State Hayward. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family and adventure. They especially treasured their life on Rancho Sueño in Midpines, where they lovingly raised livestock, kept bees and created a home filled with warmth and cherished memories.
Their ranch was more than just a home — it was a gathering place where family came together, dreams were nurtured and countless memories were made. Linda and Lloyd found great joy in the simple pleasures of country life and in creating a welcoming place for all who visited.
Outside the classroom and ranch life, Linda found happiness in reading, painting, cooking, traveling and spending precious time with those she loved most.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate of 40 years, Lloyd Myers, who passed away in 2018. Though her heart was forever changed by his loss, she carried his memory with her always, and the love they shared remained an enduring part of her life.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Katie Mari Pike and Shannon Elizabeth Clark; her beloved sons-in-law, Pat Pike and John Clark; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Pike, Juno Pike, Jack Clark, Gus Clark and Dusty Clark; and her devoted companion, Yancy Hopper.
Although their time together was far too short, their relationship was deeply meaningful. Yancy brought companionship, laughter and renewed happiness into Linda’s life and through their time together, she was able to open her heart to love again. Their love was a beautiful reminder that even after profound loss, there can still be joy, connection and new beginnings.
Linda’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely. She taught through her example that kindness costs nothing but means everything, that learning is a lifelong gift and that family is life’s greatest treasure. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, quick wit, infectious laugh and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. at The Grove House in Mariposa. All who knew and loved Linda are welcome to attend.
