It’s almost that exciting time of year. Book lovers circle the date on their calendars each year. It’s the Mariposa Friends of the Library’s spring book sale!

It will be held this year on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 23. It will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mariposa Library parking lot, 4978 10th Street. Each year, this spring sale coincides with the Rotary’s Art, Wine, & Wheels event, which is held just feet away on the Mariposa County Courthouse lawn.

As always, there will be books and movies at bargain prices. The selection includes children’s books, nonfiction, fiction, mystery, outdoors, gardening, education, science, biographies, and more.

There should be something for everyone,” said Mariposa County Librarian Matt Johnson. You really can’t beat the low prices.

There will also be author booths featuring the work of local authors who have had their work published.

Johnson said the sale is led by volunteers. All the funds go toward supporting the library with book purchases, office supplies, or event programming.
