It won’t work, Tom

Editor,

To Rep. Tom McClintock:

I see what you are trying to do with your latest messages and website postings. You think that if you show us you are out in the field, talking to a handful of hand-picked constituents, that you can distance yourself from the chaos, cruelty and unconstitutional acts of President Trump and his administration and your responsibilities in Washington, D.C.

Sorry, but it is not going to work. All Republican congressmen and senators will be held equally accountable for the devastation that has been caused this past year and a half both domestically and internationally.

It will take a long time for the country to recover, but this nation was not built on hate, autocracy or a Christo-facist doctrine, and therefore, will one day return to its former glory. Hopefully, trust and respect for us throughout the world will return, too.

As long as you go along and say nothing, you will lose respect throughout your district, which might just be enough to lead to your loss in November. Just know that even if you are reelected because of the party break in our district, you will have sold your soul to the devil and your conscience will never be the same.

Maybe it would be better for you to cut your losses and choose not to run.
