As students began spring break this week the Mariposa County High School varsity baseball team had been the victor in its last 10 games.

After beating Delhi on March 24, 23-0, the Grizzlies took it to the Hawks again on March 26, winning 16-1.

As the team was back at it on March 31, they defeated Gustine 17-2, then again on April 2, this time winning 9-6.

John Ogilby and Bodie Hagan held it down on the mound for the Grizzlies.

Ogilby had two hits and two runs along with allowing no hits and six strike outs from the mound while Hagan recorded six strikeouts in four innings pitched.

The team continues to be a force at the plate as almost the entire roster recorded at least one hit during the game.

The team sat in first place with a record of 8-0 in league play after the win over Gustine.

Both the JV and varsity teams headed to Hilmar April 6-9 for some tournament action over the break.

Results for these games were not available at press time.

Next up, the team will be back in league action on April 14 as they host Stone Ridge Christian (2-5) at MCHS.

It will be varsity only at 4 p.m.

JV will be back on the diamond on April 16 as they travel to Summerville.

Game time is 3:30 p.m.
