Guenthart knows the system

Editor,

I am very pleased to write this letter of support for Tammie Guenthart in her election to be retained as the Mariposa County Assessor-Recorder.

As the former assessor-recorder, I had the pleasure of working with Tammie for more than six years. I believe that she has the best experience, ability, good judgment and common sense to continue in the job.

The county assessor-recorder is responsible for identifying and correctly assessing the value of billions of dollars of property in Mariposa County each year. Assessors and recorders must adhere to rules established by State Legislation and statewide ballot propositions such as Proposition 13.

Tammie knows the current state rules and proper assessment procedures that must be followed. It is my opinion that she skillfully directs this department and staff each day through the maze of regulations in a professional manner for the people of Mariposa County.

Tammie worked with four prior assessor-recorders before taking over the position last year.

With her 22 years of experience in both assessment and recording, she has intimate knowledge of all aspects of the department. This year she is directing the first upgrade of the recording function in more than 30 years.

She has been through it all and her record is spotless. Tammie has dedicated her career to serving the people of Mariposa County.

In my opinion there is no better person to run this office.

Please join me in voting to retain Tammie Guenthart as our Mariposa County Assessor-Recorder.
