Are you prepared to “Go for the Gold(en) Years?”

Do you have a trust or will? Do you know how to find hospice or in-home care? What should you know about burial and cremation?

Experts on these topics and more will speak at AAUW Mariposa’s two-part series designed to help families and heirs prepare ahead of time for the inevitable challenges of aging.

Part one on Wednesday, April 22, will cover wills, trusts and other legal topics as well as burial and cremation.

Part two on Wednesday, May 20, will focus on hospice, in-home care and care facilities, as well as the services offered by Area 12 Agency on Aging.

Both events will be at the Mariposa Senior Center, 5246 Spriggs Lane, Mariposa from 5:30-7 p.m. There is no charge and light refreshments will be served.

The speakers donating their time and expertise are Bernard McGoldrick of McGoldrick and McGoldrick Law Firm, Amanda Garcia from Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, Rebecca Swisher, Director of Nursing for JCFHD Part-Skilled Nursing Facility, Angela Uthe, Behavioral Health Clinician with Camerena and Chris McCoy, Director of Programs, from Area 12 Agency on Aging.

Attend one or both of these informative presentations. Learn what you and your loved ones need to do now to make things easier then.

These presentations are a community service program offered by AAUW Mariposa, a branch of the 140-year-old national organization, AAUW (American Association of University Women), which is dedicated to advancing equity for women and girls.
