Have you noticed the patriotic bunting around Oakhurst, Coarsegold, Bass Lake and North Fork, as shown in this photo of Southgate Station on Highway 41 in Oakhurst? The red, white and blue drapery comes courtesy of the Eastern Madera County Foundation and its beautification efforts – they awarded $1,500 to each town to support the bunting project now and in the future (Coarsegold already sported some bunting pre-rodeo). The decorations will remain up to celebrate the nation’s birthday July 4 and through Labor Day when they’ll be packed away for next year.
