Edelheit is the best choice

Editor,

The upcoming District 1 Supervisor race is really important. District 1 includes Yosemite National Park, which is currently an utter mess!

We need someone with direct Yosemite negotiating experience. We have to get it right — and luckily we can. Lisa Edelheit has the exact experience we need and she’s been proven to be quite effective.

As Yosemite goes, so goes Mariposa County.

Decisions made at the national and local park level control our bottom lines. Our local businesses deserve to thrive — but they can’t if our national and international tourism is throttled by bad decisions and poor service. Lisa already knows the ropes. She’s a driven problem solver.

I worked in Yosemite for 14 years long ago when it was great. Lisa deftly negotiated employee issues. She took both sides into consideration, thereby earning the respect of all. She made the park a better place for workers, management, park service and tourists. She’s whip-smart, tough and always considerate.

Her experience doesn’t end there. She also spent years advocating for better education outcomes in central California, something we specifically need in Mariposa County.

Knowledgeable county input into park service, concessionaire, education and permitting practices would make a world of difference to Mariposa. Our county must have a seat at every table that affects us.

Lisa Edelheit will get that done — and done well. We’d be so lucky to have her.
