The Mariposa County Arts Council has announced the 2026 Art + Community grant program, funded by the County of Mariposa, which will support artists and grassroots organizations using art projects and cultural programming to achieve community goals in Mariposa County.

Individual artists or groups/organizations working in Mariposa County are invited to apply from April 13 through May 4. Interested applicants should visit www.mariposaartscouncil.org/grant to see full grant guidelines and submit their application.

Request amounts are available between $500-$2,000 for selected projects. An informational webinar and open Q&A session will be hosted by Arts Council staff on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p.m. via Google Meet. To register, contact Polina Pivak, at pivak@mariposaartscouncil.org.

Additional technical assistance meetings can be scheduled as requested by applicants and based on staff availability. The Art + Community Grant program is designed to support art projects and programs that serve and uplift the community, particularly for those who may not typically have access to the arts.

Applicants must demonstrate a deep understanding of, and reflect a commitment to, the communities being supported and projects must align with county policy, strategy or recommendation. All funded activities or projects must be accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Previously funded projects include a writer in residence program, cultural medicine walks, a community ukulele ensemble, an art lecture program and a student film making contest.

The Arts + Community Grant is a great opportunity for existing and emerging local artists and art-related organizations to give back to the community and in return obtain support and promotion for their art,” said Polina, the Arts Council’s Program Manager/Lead Teaching Artist.

So many creative and beautiful projects have been funded since 2024, the grant’s inception, and we are excited to see what proposals we receive next!
