Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation has announced applications are now available for the 2026-2027 contest year for Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty.

The contest is open to young women between the ages of six and 25 who reside within 150 miles of the Mariposa Courthouse.

Do you know a young lady who is passionate about horses, rodeo, the county fair and Mariposa?

Then have her apply as she may just be the next Queen, Princess or Junior Princess.

The deadline for applications is June 7.

Also on June 7, at the Hagens Arena in Catheys Valley, contestants will be qualifying their horses to be used in competition.

Contestants will sell raffle tickets for a chance at $1,000 to be given away on the rodeo night.

Sponsorships are also being sought to help offset the cost of the program.

Competition day is Aug. 1 for horsemanship and personal interviews; the competition will be held at Hagens Ranch in Catheys Valley.

The dinner, on-stage performance and crowning will be on Aug. 8 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, Building A.

Applications can be found at the fairgrounds office or online at www.mariposafair.com, www.mariposafof.com or by contacting Jeanne at rodeoroyaltymariposa@gmail.com or (209) 769-4285.
