Officials on April 17 released the fifth draft of a proposed Short-Term Vacation Rental (STVR) Ordinance designed to address the operation and permitting of some 1,600 short term vacation rentals in the Madera County.

Most of the vacation rentals are located in the Eastern Madera County communities of Bass Lake, Coarsegold, North Fork, Oakhurst and Ahwahnee.

The ordinance, when voted on, is intended to be applicable to the entire county.

The ordinance was set for the April 29 Special Planning Commission meeting at the Madera County Government Center in Madera. The meeting was also planned to be held virtually with details available on the county’s website.

The fifth and current version of the STVR Vacation Rental Ordinance is available for viewing at https:// www.maderacounty.com/home/showpublisheddocument/ 47873/639120330782370000.

Check the website for updates to future meeting schedules.
