All aboard the Yosemite Jazz Train as the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad is now selling tickets for their unforgettable

Summer Concert Series.

You won’t find anything like this anywhere else: a carefully curated series of renowned artists playing live music outdoors in the Sierra National Forest. And a choochoo, to boot.

The Jazz Train Concert Package includes a seasonal chef-prepared appetizer selection served from the Sugar

Pine Table starting at 3 p.m. Beverages including specialty local beer and wine are available for purchase.

An exclusive round-trip 25-minute Train Excursion is punctuated by a private 75-minute concert performance at the Sugar Pine Lewis Creek Amphitheater.

Post-performance conversation with the featured artist, a meet-and-greet and artist signing are set upon return to the station. The total time for the entire intimate event is about three hours.

Shows are on Sundays at 3 p.m.: June 28, July 12, Aug. 16, Aug. 30, Sept. 13 and Oct. 4

Jazz Train Summer Concert Series

Versatile and prolific acoustic guitarist Peter White opens the season on Sunday, June 28. White combines elements of jazz, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience.

Rick Estrin and The Nightcats take the open air stage on Sunday, July 12. Estrin’s award-winning Bay Area electric blues band inspired by artists like Jimmy Reed, Champion Jack Dupres, Mose Allison and Nina Simone.

Sunday, Aug. 16 brings trumpeter, composer and producer Rick Braun to the Jazz Train. The L.A. based musician is long known for his technical chops, melodic wizardry and keen compositional prowess.

Grammy-nominated Richard Elliot brings a full band performance to Fish Camp on Sunday, Aug. 30. Celebrated for more than four decades, his signature smooth jazz and soul saxophone effortlessly combine jazz, R&B, funk and blues into a powerful and deeply expressive sound.

Jeff Kashiwa and Steve Oliver will perform on Sunday, Sept. 13. Kashiwa is one of the most diverse and in-demand sax players in all of contemporary jazz. Oliver is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer best known for his smooth jazz and also for a wide variety of styles from pop and rock to Latin, electronic and world music.

BPM on Sunday, Oct. 4 is comprised of bassist Brian Bromberg, guitarist Paul Brown and saxophonist Michael Paulo. Together these veteran genre superstars make polished smooth jazz music that’s been referred to as everything from funky and infectious to slickly cool.

Historic excursions

The Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad is a historic, family-owned railway just south of the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park.

In addition to Jazz Train, the attraction offers a 4-mile one-hour narrated scenic trips along t he original Madera Sugar Pine logging grade in the forest on authentic, restored Shay steam locomotives.
