Thank you Sheriff Jeremy Briese and the hard-working deputies of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s office for your efforts to prevent illegal camping near the Idle Wheels Senior Mobile Home Park.
The residents of our 111-home senior citizen community live in fear of wildfires and burglaries caused by dangerous transients and other illegal campers on county property surrounding our homes.
We have empathy for those illegal campers struggling with addiction or mental health issues, and hope they can be connected to appropriate resources. At the same time, we don’t want to risk our lives and everything we own on the hope these campers won’t let an open flame or an illegal campfire spark an Oak Fire-size conflagration.
