The Dome Fire has caused the cancellation of a major October event in Mariposa County.
The cancellation is because the main fire management headquarters are located at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, where the events take place.
The annual Sausage ‘N Suds event, which is presented by the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds, has been canceled. It was scheduled for Oct. 17.
“We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support during this time,” the group said in a statement.
They did say anyone who has purchased tickets, reserved table space or are a sponsor will get refund information in the near future.
The Friends of the Fairgrounds group raises funds for a wide variety of projects from upkeep to modernization at the fairgrounds.
The group has continually supported the local fairgrounds, one of the central gathering places for events in the county.
