Man wanted in North Fork case of attempted murder

A man is wanted for attempted murder, torture, mayhem and robbery in North Fork.

Erik Von Richard Haumann, 33, is wanted by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) in connection with a violent attack that occurred on Sept. 17 in North Fork. Officials requested the public’s help in locating Haumann.

MCSO said he is suspected of attacking the 75-year-old victim for an extended period of time while threatening to kill them during an argument at a residence.

Officials said the victim, whom they did not publicly identify, suffered multiple severe and permanent injuries.

Haumann is also accused of stealing the victim’s vehicle following the attack. Authorities said the vehicle was later recovered in the Lemoore area. The suspect was believed to be headed to the Santa Barbara area.

A warrant was issued for Haumann’s arrest for attempted murder, torture, mayhem and robbery.

Erik Von Richard Haumann is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Haumann’s current whereabouts were unknown at press time. MCSO said it was unknown whether he is armed.
