May 10-17 was Hospital Week, an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the dedicated professionals at John C. Fremont Healthcare District who provide care, support healing, and strengthen our community.

The JCF Hospital Foundation was pleased to organize, sponsor and participate in a number of events designed to make sure our hospital workers know how much we appreciate them.

On Monday, the Foundation hired local caterers L&J Mexican Food to prepare and deliver dinner to the night staff.

On Tuesday, the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation which was then read by board chair Danette Toso and presented to CEO Stacey Kuzak and staff at the hospital campus on Thursday.

The proclamation read, in part: “Mariposa County recognizes the resilience, professionalism, and compassion shown by local healthcare workers who support families during life’s most challenging moments and help keep our communities strong.

Also on Thursday, foundation board members and executive administrator Miranda Wass delivered thank you notes and chocolates to all staff in all departments.

On Saturday, the foundation delivered fruit and donuts for weekend staff to enjoy.

These efforts to make hospital staff feel appreciated were in addition to the district leadership team’s own special Hospital Week events.

This week is an opportunity for us to celebrate and support the healthcare workers whose dedication and teamwork are saving lives every day,” said Foundation Executive Administration Miranda Wass.We hope everyone in the community will join us in thanking our Healthcare District staff for the tremendous work they do for us. They are vital to the health of Mariposa County.
