The Mariposa County Little League board has welcomed new faces and new ideas for the 2025 season.

At the end of the 2024 season, president Grant Davis announced he was stepping down after many years serving the board; however, the love for the game has Davis stepping into a new role supporting the board as a member at large.

Nominations for new board members happened at the September annual meeting; the members are:

President: Mason Rodman

Vice President: Will Atkinson

Treasurer: Kierstin Wight

Player Agents: Lower (T-Ball/Coach Pitch)- Erin Davenport, Upper (Minors/Majors)- Kathleen Robinson

Umpire in Chief: Loren Fazio
Secretary: Megan Atkinson
Safety Officer: Raquel Sandoval
Coaching Coordinator: Sloan Harper
Information Officer/Public Relations: Kazzy
Cunningham
Fields: Jeremiah Beery
Equipment: Jeremiah Trygsland
Member At Large (Fields & Equipment

Assistant): Darryl Nielsen
Member At Large: Grant Davis

The new board has taken on a forward-thinking mindset and active stance to bring about needed updates, changes and clarity to the little league program to further enhance player safety and skill building.

Key priorities identified include materials and repair of the mound and batting areas, development of a bullpen for pitcher and catcher warm-ups and training, rebuilding batting cages, installing a grass infield, obtaining a new chalker and a portable unit for score keeping and concessions.

These priorities focus on player safety and improving the current facilities for the community.

In addition to field upgrades and equipment purchases the board has identified a serious need to educate and engage the community.

Volunteers are a crucial element to developing strong and confident players, by providing for in-person meet and greets, training and supports prior to season start and additional opportunities to fund raise to help support scholarships for families.

The 2025 season is shaping up to be a homerun.

The board has already begun planning a meet and greet in January for families and potential volunteers to get help signing up, ask questions and participate in gear swap.

The league looks forward to seeing everyone out on the diamond.
